Summary of the Gathering Workshops
Christian/Muslim Relations - Bill Gepford, Presbytery of Detroit,
wiamfrd@msn.com
Summary: We are called by Christ to relationship with other. The PC(USA)
has adopted this theological position since some 45 years. In so doing we
build a culture of peace, justice and love.
Things I wished I covered: Perhaps more in depth of the teachings of Islam
(time too short)
Resources: "Children of Abraham", play produced by "The Mosaic Youth
Theatre". Contact Bill Gepford. Bibliography specially R. Marston Speight,
"God: is One: The way of Islam" and Karen Armstrong "Jerusalem: City of Three
Faiths"

WARC - What is it? - Rev Rebecca Tollefson, (614)
rtollefson@ohcouncilchs.org
Summary - I gave a general intro to the World Alliance of Reformed Churches
(WARC) - showed a slide presentation,
handed out some papers with basic info on WARC; talked about the Pre-Women's
Council meeting, the WARC Council meeting, chared music printed and on CD -
theme music of Council meeting.
Things I wished I covered: More on topics of how our government has imposed
itself on other countries.
Resources: Renewing the Vision, Reformed Faith for the 21st Century, Geneva
Press, Cynthia Campbell, editor

Building Community Electronically - Jane
McGookey, Key-Web Solutions
mcgookey@key-web.net
Summary: Talked about the need to communicate and ways to do it -
newsletter, email, web sites - and what programs are needed for these things.
Looked at Peacemaking Offering and Churchwide Gathering promotional kits.
Participants learned how to use the PCUSA web site and the Google image
search.
Things I wished I covered: People seemed interested in learning how to edit
pictures, this is a topic for a workshop by itself.
Resources: Jump Start books are fairly user friendly
